A long timed double exposure as I had problems with the dynamic range when I wanted to exposure the moon correctly the cross was too dark so I took 2 photos and merged them in Photochop and corrected the colours. No other changes were made to the image or subject.
I had to wait quite a time and had to re visit the place very often to get it just right - dark and moody - just the way I like it....
Well I always use manual settings the zoom was almost maxed out to put the objects together, also a stative was used to maintain good sharpness with this long exposure. I think it was 180mm but I might be wrong...
Nice!
The cross looks very eerie and I, myself am a big fan of finding such "gems" all over Germany. What bothers me a bit about this photo is the strange position you decided to put the moon in!
I think this photo, which by the way already has bags of atmosphere, would have an even bigger impact on the viewer if the moon would be somewhere in the right corner. Your position makes the photo way too cluttered, leaving too much open space to the right.
Since this was compiled in PS, you could try and redo it and see which one works better. Let me know if you do so.
Great shot of the cross nevertheless!
